Writer and director Kate Beecroft is a Los Angeles native who graduated from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London.

Her feature directorial debut, East of Wall, premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Audience Award and was acquired by Sony Pictures Classics. 

​

The film earned Beecroft a spot on Indiewire's 2025 Breakout list, a Gotham Best Picture nomination, and two Independent Spirit Award nominations, including Best First Feature.
